Sinopse

In the year 1524 Portuguese sailor Aleixo Garcia walked many miles from the small village of Santa Catarina in the south of Brazil to Peru riding through the mysterious Way of Peabiru. Garcia was searching for the gold and silver from the Incas. On his way he recruited thousands of Amerindians and later attacked and looted a city in the vicinity of the today Potosí, headquarters of Inca king Huayna Capac and his army. Besides the many gold and silver pieces, Garcia took from the Incas some unusual artifacts called “Machines of Viracocha” made of an unknown red metal. According to a contemporary group of mathematician priests those artifacts belonged to a very advanced civilization called by them The People of the Machines. During his journey back to Brazil Garcia and his army were killed on the Paraguay river bank by the payagua Indians. Part of Garcia’s original treasure and some of the Machines of Viracocha came to the hands of an ancient group of mathematician Jesuit priests. The last guardian of those Inca pieces was a Jesuit priest, Friar Gonçalo Antonio, who lived in the coast village of Santos in the Sao Vicente Captaincy by the end of the sixteenth century. On Christmas day of the year 1591 the village of Santos was attacked and looted by the English privateer Thomas Cavendish who stole the Inca pieces and the Machines of Viracocha from Friar Gonçalo Antonio monastery. Before moving his ships to the Strait of Magellan, Cavendish stopped by the island of San Sebastian (today Ilhabela) to hide the fruit of his pillage in a safe place.
